Wall Prep

Here are some things we consider when deciding whether or not your walls need to be prepped.

Clay Texture

Do you have textured walls?

If so, we will need to look into your product and the type of texture on your walls to determine the impact the texture will have on the installation.

Denver homes usually have Knockdown or Orange Peel texture - with most wallpaper this will result in seams that are more visible. This is due to the seams not being able to truly butt up against one another - instead they have slight variations in height which can cause shadows and wallpaper edges to show. If you have an expensive product, heavy texture, thin wallpaper, are a perfectionist, or if the installation is going in an important area of your home (not a kid’s room) we strongly advise getting your wall sanded, skimmed, and then primed. You can get this done through us or your general handyman - it will cost around $4 - $5 / square foot.

Raw Drywall / Recent Paint

Both of these conditions require a clear coat of primer for the wallpaper to adhere properly. This will cost $1 per square foot.
